38 Weeks

-We had an ultrasound yesterday and were thrilled to get good pics of Baby B! Here is a favorite. The top picture shows our sweet little boy's face and thanks to C, the second picture identifies
the different parts of his face. I must admit that sometimes it takes me forever to really "see" what I'm looking at in ultrasound pics and it was so exciting to see lips, eyes, nose, and a little hand! We were both in awe at having a view of this little person moving around inside of me. It's sure amazing to feel him and know he's there and even more amazing to get a glimpse of him! Just for fun, I've included Baby B's pic from January at 5 weeks old. He sure has changed!
-We're so happy to report that all is well. Baby B is weighing in at approximately 8 lbs 13 ounces! I'm now measuring at 43 weeks which is consistent with how I've been measuring all along. With an adventurous pregnancy where different factors have played a role, we had no idea if we'd get this far along without Baby B arriving too soon. We're now past the magical number of the 37 week mark so whenever he arrives, we expect he'll be well developed and ready to enter the world!
-Our doctor is on vacation this week so we met with another doctor in her practice. We're hoping Baby B holds off on arriving until our doctor returns. Our doc felt we would be just fine with baby not arriving this week but did prepare us should something unexpected happen with baby deciding to make an appearance.
-C and I talked about some things we wanted to do in these final weeks as "just us". Eating at some favorite restaurants topped the list. Last weekend was Japanese and this weekend will be fondue. Yum. A friend and I enjoyed going out to dinner and seeing the movie "Julie and Julia" last week. And getting ready for Baby B's arrival continues to be a part of our lives. I'm excited to meet a possible pediatrician for Baby B today.
Have a great week!
