Sneak Preview

Welcome to Baby B's room! Please join me on a little tour of his room so far. Although we didn't start out having a theme of any sort and really didn't know that we'd end up with a theme at all, a dresser with star handles helped us decide to add a moon and stars theme to the room. You'll also see a few frogs, circles, and other items that all seemed to go, too.

Above is one side of the room. I love the multi-dimensional look of the lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The room is painted light brown on top with dark brown on the bottom. The rug was a recent Target find.
Another view.

Here's a close-up of the Sweet Dreams sign hanging above Baby B's bed.

Meet some furry friends received from friends at baby showers. The blue dog snuggly says "Thank heaven for little boys". The fuzzy bear is wearing a bib that says "My first friend". The froggy is just plain cute-and frogs have some special meaning to my Grandpa's side of the family which makes him extra special. Oh, and I didn't get a close-up of the sweet little squeaking lamb but he's hanging out on top of the crib. I ordered this cute bumper pad before we attended a class and discovered it's recommended not to have these in cribs due to SIDS concerns. Still, it's there for now so we're enjoying it while we can!
This will be the diaper changing area.

This picture hangs above the dresser. When first considering the moon and stars theme, I looked all over for reasonably priced decorations with no luck. There didn't seem to be moon and star pictures in the stores where I was looking. After coming home from a shopping trip, I began looking through gift bags from baby showers thinking I might cut out moon and star shapes and make my own picture. Guess what? This was actually a gift bag that happened to have moon and stars on it so it was ready to go! I just did some cutting, pasting, and framing and ta da...here it is!
The above "My First Year" frame was a gift. The family friend who gave it to us had no idea of our theme but it matches perfectly with all of the stars and it even has a few frogs!

These containers were gifts from my mom. They're covered with stars and will be wonderful for books and other treasures. They sit on a bookshelf by a second window.

The above are some special pictures given to me by my grandma. She let my sister and I pick out some copies of pictures she'd received that were dear to her. This was during a family visit at her place during Christmas-time. We didn't know at the time that there was already a Baby B growing inside of me. It was on our way home that we discovered he was on his way!
Thank you for coming on a tour. We have a few more things to do-like getting a few shelves hung up, adding a comfy rocking chair, and finding places for some misc. things but I think we're almost ready!

  1. Oh, wow. Thanks for the tour of Baby B's room! I love how you've handled the moon and stars theme -- lightly, rather than over the top. The room is very soothing. Like you, I love the lanterns hanging down.

The cleaning, cleaning, cleaning of your previous post does sound like the traditional nesting stage.

Much love. I look forward to the exciting news to come!
