Signs of Summer

Summer here has officially begun! I'm still working on a few school things but am also enjoying the fact that school is officially out. Today has been a good day to appreciate some signs of summer. Here's me with my feet up. Ahhhhhhh. Ilsa is already enjoying me being around during the day. In this picture, she's busy protecting her ball and hoping I'll play keep away with her.

Flavored iced tea is a summer favorite. Made some "Country Peach Passion" today and enjoyed every sip.

I love having time to read in the summer. Just picked up Slumdog Millionaire and have been continuing to read What to Expect When You're Expecting. It finally dawned on me that I was reading quite a bit on what to expect up to baby B's arrival but I wasn't reading about AFTER he arrives. So, I'm now working on What to Expect in the First Year, too.

I love having flowers out in the summer. This pic doesn't quite capture the color but I love the way the purple petunias look on our front porch. They seem to look best when I remember to water them!

I planted a cherry tomato plant and it has one green tomato on it so far!

What a fun surprise to find these when I walked down the alley recently. C and I planted the rose bush last summer and both of us were amazed at the beautiful blooms.
Baby news:
We're now signed up for both a childbirth class and newborn class at the hospital where I'll deliver. We're hoping to learn lots. It's recommended that we get our hospital pre-registration turned in this month so I'm getting that filled out. How is it the end of May already?
We have one more once a month doctor appointment and then we begin going every two weeks. Eventually, there will be a visit every week. The next appointment is my glucose tolerance test. I get to drink a sweet orange pop-like liquid and then have a blood test. This is a typical test given during pregnancy and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I pass the test with flying colors! Baby B is said to now be 2 lbs in weight and approximately 13 inches long. What I read recently said I can now expect to grow 1/2 inch per week. Oh my! I feel huge already and am trying to imagine what my belly will look like in a few months. I am regularly asked if I'm sure I'm having only one baby, not two. Only one!
