Everyday Miracles
Miracles happen everyday and can be found among ordinary, everyday things. I started this blog as an avenue to write my thoughts and feelings as I begin this journey of pregnancy. As an older mom of 36, I am in awe of this journey and of this little miracle growing inside me. As one who really began wondering if I was EVER going to marry (finally did at 34) I must admit that it seemed an even further stretch to imagine having the opportunity to be a mom. Yet here I am, very pregnant (the nurse practitioner actually congratulated us by saying "Congratulations, you are very pregnant" which led to so much more of a joyful moment than if she had only referred to us as partially pregnant or just simply pregnant) and entering a world that might seem everyday to some yet to me, I stand in awe of it all, the wonder, the emotions, the body changes, the doctor visits, the excitement, the fear, all of it. I had a desire to begin writing about this experience. Thanks to an e-mail from a dear aunt who expressed an interest in reading about my journey and experiences, I felt encouraged to begin writing. Welcome to all who are sharing this journey with me. A journey involving this simple everyday miracle of life that is amazingly growing within me!

Whoohoo! I love that "very pregnant" line.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the treasure of starting your blog. May it bring you joy and support as you, your husband, and your little one journey forth.
A friend of mine whose second child is due in a few weeks wrote today about visiting a friend who gave birth two week ago:
"This afternoon we went to visit some good friends who just had a baby two weeks ago. And... whoa. I had honestly forgotten that they start out so small. I really had. He's not a shrimp of a baby, comparatively - he's up to eight pounds now - but holy cow, he is tiny. Was Alex really ever that small? Is Niblet really going to be that small? I just... I just forgot."
Words form the stories that help us remember. When they're in writing, we can choose to remember whenever we want. Thank you for sharing your miraculous journey.
