Just a quick update to let you know that we received good news today. The ultrasound showed that our baby has implanted in the desired place AND has a strong heartbeat. Words are not adequate to describe the joy and relief we feel. Here's the baby! Today it was dated at 7 wks 5 days. Descriptions I've read compare the baby to the size of a coffee bean, hence the inability to see much besides a blob in the ultrasound picture at this point. The tech told us that our next ultrasound would be much more exciting but really, this one has us both pretty excited! We're so thankful that all is well. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and encouragement as we waited for today to arrive. I woke up this morning feeling relief already that Friday had finally come and we would have more information. The doctor said she could treat me like a real pregnant person now. She was very positive and said a heartbeat at 7 weeks was a good indication of a healthy pregnancy. Yeah!!!!!

ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice of them to include the arrow and label? Ultrasounds are amazing...and the fact that techs and doctors can look at them and know what they're looking at is pretty amazing, too.
I spent today looking at picture book illustrations at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst and at R. Michelson Galleries in Northampton. It was a delightful way to send baby-positive vibes westward to you!
