Happy Halloween!

Colin loves bouncing and jumping so a Tigger costume seemed perfect for Halloween this year.  He seemed comfy in the costume but wasn't very fond of having the hood up.  Just for fun, I thought I'd post a picture of Colin at Halloween time a year ago...

Colin started walking between 12 and 13 months. He sure can move fast and loves to explore everywhere and everything!  I'm impressed with how well he can pivot back and forth to turn around.  He's recently had fun turning around in circles which is pretty cute.

He loves to play with magnets, empty containers or cabinets, and climb anything he can (such as into the dishwasher.  Along with his climbing ability, he has proven to be a good helper.  He has started handing me dishes as I'm putting them away.  He does a great job with handing me the glasses).  He is also very good at using objects to get him higher so he can climb-pillows, toys, anything that can get him closer to what he wants to climb).  He thinks it is great fun to shake and drum on things.  He wants to be moving and investigating and he does not like being contained or held when exploring is on his agenda!  He will wiggle and wriggle and grunt to let us know that he wants to go places.

We love taking in life though the eyes of a child and find ourselves being child-like again.  We enjoy watching Colin make discoveries and find delight in the little things.  He has such a nice personality and sense of humor.

Colin loves music and it is cute to see him dance when we play music.  He will also let us know when he wants us to play music.  He will walk up to the radio, computer, or music box and will dance and smile to let us know he would like to hear some music.

I read recently that life to a 13 month old is one big science experiment.  This is so true and we are busy trying to keep up with him (hence, the reason I haven't blogged in so long.  I used to be a night owl.  Now I have to laugh because I find that after working all day then keeping up with Colin when I get home, I am tuckered out.  After I put Colin to bed, I'm ready to go to sleep, too)!

(The above photos were taken by C.  I like to give credit where credit is due.  I tend to take most of the pictures I post but he is kind to let me post his when I ask nicely.  He's the real photographer in the family and does such a nice job of capturing important life moments).

We visited the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago.  This is the same place we enjoyed visiting with Colin last year.  Below is Colin at the pumpkin patch this year...

And here is Colin at the pumpkin patch in October 2009...

It's amazing to see how much he's grown and changed in a year!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
